The Prairie Heights Panthers's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 44-38 win over Churubusco. For Prairie Heights, this counts as revenge for the 46-28 loss Churubusco walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Prairie Heights can attribute much of their success to Ava Boots, who scored nine points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. Mckinlee Kain was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Churubusco lost, one person who can't be blamed is Patty Wiggs. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Wiggs continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Eby, who scored nine points.
Prairie Heights' victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Churubusco, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie Heights will be home for the holidays to greet West Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Noble is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Churubusco will be home for the holidays to greet Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bluffton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
