Two dominant players in Auburn Hill and Cammi Unruh are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chaparral Roadrunners will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Moundridge Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chaparral scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Conway Springs by a score of 57-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chaparral.
Kaylee Swartz was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paige Swingle, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Moundridge had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 50 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 74-55 win over Goessel.
Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Moundridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Chaparral came up short against Moundridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 37-28. Can Chaparral avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
