The Speedway Sparkplugs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They breezed by Crawfordsville at home to the tune of 48-13. The victory was just what Speedway needed coming off of a 40-7 defeat in their prior contest.
Speedway was led to victory by Jazz Coleman and Connor Moreland. Coleman gained 174 total yards and two touchdowns, while Moreland threw for 264 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Cam Reich was another key contributor, picking up 35 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Several Athenians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Mclemore, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Speedway's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Crawfordsville, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9.
Speedway will be playing at home against Monrovia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monrovia will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. Crawfordsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
