Make it 18 blowout wins for the Hanks Knights this season. They breezed by Del Valle at home to the tune of 59-17 on Tuesday. Hanks is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 14 straight.
Hanks got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anette Hernandez out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Hernandez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 22 straight games. Another player making a difference was Zoey Burton, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Hanks has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for Del Valle, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanks will take on the Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Parkland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1345th, while the Knights are ranked 403rd). As for Del Valle, they will be playing at home against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
