Basketball Recap: Northwest Skates Past Aurora with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Northwest's strategy against Aurora on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Northwest Vikings blew the Aurora Huskies out of the water with a 44-17 final score. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Reagan Mcintyre was the offensive standout of the contest as she went 6 of 14 on her way to 14 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Daveigha Heikes, who posted nine points.

Northwest was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aurora only posted one assist.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hailey Hoff, who put up three points and three blocks.

Northwest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36 points. As for Aurora, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Northwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-63 defeat against Oakland-Craig on the 27th. As for Aurora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-45 loss against Gross Catholic on the 27th.
