Eisenhower had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-14 to make it four. They came up short against the Spring Lions, falling 12-2. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Eisenhower saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jay'Markus Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Denny Benavides also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Spring, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games.
On Spring's side, Jeremi Sanchez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sanchez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Spring is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Sanchez was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Noah Martinez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Back at the plate, Moises Arb was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Nolan Wilkerson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
While Eisenhower had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
