The Douglass Red Devils put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 69-63 win over Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes. Given Douglass' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 13th in Tennessee, while Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes is ranked 399th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Douglass to victory were Taquez Butler and Jarmon Brittman. Butler scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Brittman dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Brittman's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Holly, who scored 9 points.
Douglass' win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Douglass is on the road again on Friday and play against Minnesota Preparation Academy, TRIP at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th. Minnesota Preparation Academy, TRIP is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
