On January 10th, New Covenant Academy came up short against School of the Ozarks and fell 45-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Covenant Academy has scored all season.
Golden City can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They put the hurt on Jefferson Independent Day with a sharp 68-48 victory. Golden City's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Golden City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Spencer Parrill, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Parrill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jamison Menadue, who scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals.
New Covenant Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Golden City, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16.
