Anderson County (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) took the lead for the win when they ran for a touchdown with 3:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Franklin County (Frankfort, Ky.) 31-28 on Saturday.
The Bearcats led 20-14 at halftime, but the Flyers regained the lead on a touchdown run by
Chris Roberts with 8:00 to go in the fourth.
Anderson County saw its 6-point halftime lead fall to three entering the fourth.
The victory avenged Anderson County's close 56-52 loss to Franklin County last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Franklin County, which notched a 27-21 victory over South Oldham in its previous outing. The loss broke Franklin County's three-game winning streak. With the win AC extended its winning streak to three games.
