Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Harlem's 11th in Last 14 Outings

Harlem was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Guilford on Wednesday. The Huskies' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 16-0 shutout. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Megan Christensen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Rylie Adams also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Harlem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Harlem is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Guilford, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Harlem will square off against Rockford East at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Guilford, they will face off against Hononegah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
