After two games on the road, Cibola is heading back home. They will take on the Cleveland Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cibola will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Storm are ranked 20th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-14, which was the final score in Cibola's tilt against the Rams on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cibola in their matchups with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Cleveland beat the Jaguars 49-41 on Tuesday.
Cibola's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Cleveland, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Cibola came up short against the Storm when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 43-37. Can Cibola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
