Tolleson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jahlil Loyd, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Lancaster, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Maximus Romero continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Valley Vista, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Romero pulled down eight or more rebounds. Nate Cosio was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Tolleson has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Valley Vista, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.
Tolleson will take on Cesar Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cesar Chavez is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games. As for Valley Vista, they will head out on the road to take on Shadow Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Shadow Ridge is ranked 136th, while Valley Vista is ranked 137th).
