Baseball Recap: Deshler Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rogers

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deshler). They blew past the Rogers Pirates 21-1 on Monday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Deshler's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-9. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Rogers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deshler will head out to square off against Hatton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.52 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Rogers, they will venture away from home to face off against Wilson at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
