The Copper Basin Cougars have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down Whitwell 71-53 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Copper Basin, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Avery Crowder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 23 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Justus Hamby, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Copper Basin's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Whitwell, they dropped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
