Basketball Recap: Willis Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

If Cleveland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Willis, they should've done a better job of containing SJ Young. The Willis Wildkats really took it to the Cleveland Indians for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-37 win thanks in part to Young, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 24 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in December of 2024.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshon Nixon, who went 6 of 14 en route to 13 points and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

The victory (which was Willis' third in a row) raised their record to 16-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Cleveland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.

Willis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-75 win against College Park on the 24th. Cleveland has also already played their next contest (against Caney Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
