Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Cottonwood's Fourth in Last Five Outings

If Murray wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cottonwood, they should've done a better job of containing Taylor Workman. The Cottonwood Colts took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 59-28 win over the Murray Spartans thanks in part to Workman, who shot 4-for-7 from downtown and almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Murray had strong showings from Brooklyn Richter, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and seven boards, and Grace Taeoalii, who posted seven points and 14 rebounds.

Cottonwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Murray, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Cottonwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-50 victory against Tooele on the 30th. Murray has also already played their next game, a 66-44 win against Stansbury on the 30th.
