Tristan Super made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Taconic Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Francis Conners-Schmid, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacob Alvarez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chatham earned a 7-2 victory over Albany on Thursday.
Like Taconic Hills, Chatham also got a great game from a two-way player: Kiah Pinto. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Pinto was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Owen Wilber was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Cooper Steltz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Chatham pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Taconic Hills, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Taconic Hills has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chatham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Taconic Hills couldn't quite finish off Chatham in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
