The McDonough Warhawks are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Benton Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. McDonough has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Pope scored an imposing 57 points on Saturday, McDonough still came out on top. McDonough took down Pope 74-57.
McDonough got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Keenan Gray out in front who scored 19 points. The contest was Gray's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Thomas, who scored 16 points.
Benton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season. They blew past White Hall 81-53 at home. Given Benton's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while White Hall is ranked 45th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
McDonough's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Benton, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
