Two dominant in Laila Henderson and Caitylyn Gibson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The North Miami Beach Chargers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Homestead Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Miami Beach posted their biggest victory since December 11, 2023 on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 40-11 win over American on the road. The victory was just what North Miami Beach needed coming off of a 44-16 loss in their prior contest.
North Miami Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Yoshaney Cayaso, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Cayaso hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Vanejia Bryant, who scored 12 points along with eight steals.
Homestead was handed a two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against South Miami on Wednesday. Homestead blew past South Miami 59-12 on the road. Given Homestead's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while South Miami is ranked 642nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Miami Beach's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Homestead, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
North Miami Beach might still be hurting after the 40-18 loss they got from Homestead when the teams last played back in January of 2022.
