The Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Northside L Lions at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kokomo HomeSchool will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Kokomo HomeSchool is returning to their home court after beating Benton HomeSchool on theirs, despite the fact Benton HomeSchool has dominated at home this season. Kokomo HomeSchool came out on top against Benton HomeSchool by a score of 54-41 on Saturday.
Drew Beery was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 15 en route to 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. David Hart was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.
Meanwhile, Northside L humbled Living Water Homeschool with a 78-50 victory. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Marlins: they've now won three in a row.
Kokomo HomeSchool better keep an eye on JEFFREY WHEELER. He was instrumental in Northside L's win, going 8 of 11 to rack up 21 points. WHEELER continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was BEN HEASTON, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six boards.
Northside L smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.
Kokomo HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 25-7. As for Northside L, their win bumped their record up to 17-15.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's game: Kokomo HomeSchool has been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 36% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Northside L, though, as they've only made 28.6% of their three-pointers this season. Given Kokomo HomeSchool's sizable advantage in that area, Northside L will need to find a way to close that gap.
