After a string of four wins, the Stockbridge Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 61-39 loss at the hands of Arbor Prep. While losing is never fun, Stockbridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Arbor Prep is ranked ninth).
Stockbridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alaina Kellenberger, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Melina Sayre, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Stockbridge's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Arbor Prep, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Stockbridge will play host again and welcome Olivet, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arbor Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Western at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
