Colbert Heights had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Phil Campbell Bobcats as they made off with a 16-1 win. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 15-1 win back in March.

Addison Holcomb was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Autumn Willis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Gann, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Colbert Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Phil Campbell only posted an OBP of .294.

Colbert Heights' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Phil Campbell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-17 record this season.

Colbert Heights will be taking part in a tournament against Wilson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Phil Campbell, they will venture away from home to challenge Phillips at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
