The Katy Tigers and the Cy-Fair Bobcats squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Katy Tigers had to settle for second. Katy fell 28-21 to Cy-Fair. Katy's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Cy-Fair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Owens led the charge by throwing for 298 yards and three touchdowns. Connor Porter also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Katy's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Cy-Fair, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Katy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cy-Fair will face off against North Shore at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. North Shore knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Cy-Fair likes a good challenge.
