Atlantis lost against the Avon Panthers on January 8th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Atlantis was outmatched by the Panthers on the road and fell 71-43. Atlantis was down 59-36 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Avon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Guerrier out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Guerrier hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for 11 straight games. Thomas Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Atlantis' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Avon, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantis will take on the Navigators at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Massachusetts (Sturgis West is ranked 296th, while the are ranked 290th). As for Avon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
