Cibola has gone a perfect 10-0 against Atrisco Heritage Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Cibola Cougars face off against Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars at 10:00 a.m. The timing is sure in Cibola's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Atrisco Heritage Academy has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Thursday, Cibola came up short against Valley and fell 8-3.
Cibola got a good showing from Leo Lopez, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Lopez has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jacob Segotta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Chee, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Samuel Gonzalez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Atrisco Heritage Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-9 otherwise. Ignacio Quintana was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double.
Atrisco Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Cibola, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
Atrisco Heritage Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Cibola has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Atrisco Heritage Academy, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits.
