Babcock's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Gateway Charter Griffins. The result was nothing new for the Trailblazers, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Lexi Haley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Babcock let Ava Greenwell and Halle Harden run wild. Greenwell went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Harden went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Greenwell has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Bella Victor, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Babcock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gateway Charter only posted an OBP of .412.
Babcock has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Gateway Charter, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-10.
As of now, neither Babcock nor the Griffins have any future games scheduled.
