The Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Young Men's Leadership Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 58-42. The victory was just what Diamond Hill-Jarvis needed coming off of a 61-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading Diamond Hill-Jarvis to victory were Anthony Elizondo and Elijah Hernandez. Elizondo dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Hernandez scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Elizondo has scored at least a third of Diamond Hill-Jarvis' points.
Diamond Hill-Jarvis' win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-18. As for Young Men's Leadership Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Carter-Riverside the next time they take the court. Diamond Hill-Jarvis will host Carter-Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Young Men's Leadership Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
