The Springfield Bulldogs stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They blew past Independence 61-9 on the road. The win was nothing new for Springfield as they're now sitting on nine straight.
Emersyn Neal was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 19 straight games. Blayre Wheat was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Springfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Independence, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Louisiana (French Settlement is ranked 70th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 68th). As for Independence, they will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
