Despite the loss, Caldwell saw an underclassman step up: Ella Risley scored 16 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Newell, who scored 2 points along with 12 rebounds and 7 assists.
South Barber's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Caldwell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
South Barber will head out on the road to face off against Ellinwood on Thursday. As for Caldwell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
