Holy Cross is 9-0 against Derby since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Even though Woodland Regional scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Holy Cross still came out on top. Holy Cross skirted past Woodland Regional 58-56. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Holy Cross has scored all year.
Even though Derby has not done well against Watertown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Derby managed a 46-41 win over Watertown. The win was just what Derby needed coming off of a 87-45 defeat in their prior game.
Holy Cross' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Derby, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Everything came up roses for Holy Cross against Derby in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 97-62 win. Does Holy Cross have another victory up their sleeve, or will Derby turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
