The Salpointe Catholic Lancers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They breezed by Canyon del Oro on the road to the tune of 68-11. That 57 points margin sets a new team best for Salpointe Catholic this season.
Leading Salpointe Catholic to victory were Taliyah Henderson and Jordan Watts. Henderson scored ten points along with three steals, while Watts scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Allison Even, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Canyon del Oro still got an impressive performance from Halie Fuller, who scored three points along with three blocks. Fuller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 11 games she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Canyon del Oro struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Salpointe Catholic racked up 13 assists.
Salpointe Catholic pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Canyon del Oro, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salpointe Catholic will face off against Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pueblo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for Canyon del Oro, they will head out on the road to take on Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
