Christian Ministries Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Abundant Life Owls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though New Life Christian Academy scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Christian Ministries Academy still came out on top. Christian Ministries Academy took down the 72-56.
Aiden Carmona was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six assists and three steals. Carmona is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Silvar, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Abundant Life scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Arkansas Christian Academy 105-37 at home. Abundant Life has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.
Christian Ministries Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Abundant Life, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9.
Christian Ministries Academy beat the Owls 61-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Ministries Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
