The Oak Ridge Blue Jays will head out on the road to face off against the Twin Rivers Royals at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Oak Ridge easily dispatched Meadow Heights on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Oak Ridge fell just short of Century by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. The loss put an end to the Blue Jays' undefeated start to the season.
Kinsley Bogenpohl put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Bogenpohl was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Bogenpohl wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaelyn Deckerd, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Deckerd is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Another was Madyson Ruehling, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Twin Rivers put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Malden with a sharp 26-9 win. Fans of the Royals have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Oak Ridge, Twin Rivers also got a great game from a two-way player: Reese Crismon. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Crismon was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-6 with six RBI, four runs, and three doubles.
In other batting news, Ivy Benson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Reagan Bader was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Twin Rivers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Twin Rivers' record is now 4-0. As for Oak Ridge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Oak Ridge has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Twin Rivers struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Oak Ridge suffered a grim 23-2 defeat to Twin Rivers in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Oak Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
