In what's become a running theme this season, the St. Francis Mariners gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They beat Tenor by the very same score they won with last week: 82-49. Winning may never get old, but St. Francis sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
St. Francis found their leader in underclassman Josh Green, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Jaron Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Tenor saw an underclassman step up: Quintyn Robinson scored 26 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kyrell Davis, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
St. Francis' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.8 points per game. As for Tenor, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will take on Shoreland Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wisconsin (Shoreland Lutheran is ranked 195th, while St. Francis is ranked 204th). As for Tenor, they will be playing at home against University Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
