Basketball Game Preview: Sebastian River Sharks vs. Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds

Sebastian River is 0-10 against Lincoln Park Academy since December of 2014 but things could change on Monday. The Sebastian River Sharks will challenge the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. Sebastian River will be strutting in after a victory while Lincoln Park Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Sebastian River is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 75-16 win over South Fork. Winning may never get old, but the Sharks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Sebastian River got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Davione Stinson out in front who went 7 of 10 on her way to 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Stinson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiya Adams, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Sebastian River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 60 points the game before, Lincoln Park Academy was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 78-24 loss at the hands of Montverde Academy. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Eagles are ranked first).

Sebastian River's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.3 points per game. As for Lincoln Park Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-2.

Things could have been worse for Sebastian River, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-33 loss to Lincoln Park Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Sebastian River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
