The Bridges Prep Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Bamberg-Ehrhardt, falling 86-15. Bridges Prep has not had much luck with Bamberg-Ehrhardt recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bridges Prep struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mh'Chiya Johnson out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Raven Brown, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals.
Bridges Prep bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridges Prep will play host again and welcome Branchville, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Branchville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Bamberg-Ehrhardt will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bethune-Bowman at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th.
