The Hauser Jets lost against the Rising Sun Shiners back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Hauser took a 54-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rising Sun.
Hauser's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erykah Everroad, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Everroad's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Williams, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Hauser were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rising Sun only posted eight.
Rising Sun had a senior duo take command as Jenna Peelman scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals and Alyssa Simpson dropped a double-double on 20 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Simpson has scored at least 25% of Rising Sun's points. Jaylen Peelman was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Hauser has yet to win a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 2-5 record. As for Rising Sun, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hauser will take on Columbus Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Rising Sun, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Dearborn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Dearborn and Rising Sun are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
