Shekinah Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Berne Union Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shekinah Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Shekinah Christian has not done well against Northside Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Shekinah Christian strolled past Northside Christian with points to spare, taking the game 49-31. Shekinah Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Shekinah Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allie Beachy, who scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Haylee Beachy, who scored four points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Berne Union, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 32-10 walloping at the hands of Madison Christian on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Berne Union can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 798th, while Madison Christian is ranked 288th).
Shekinah Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Berne Union, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9.
Shekinah Christian took a serious blow against Berne Union in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 63-2. Can Shekinah Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
