The Bowman Academy Eagles and the Illiana Christian Vikings squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Bowman Academy Eagles had to settle for second. They took a 51-32 bruising from the Vikings. Bowman Academy has not had much luck with Illiana Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaila Hopkins, who scored four points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Janiyah Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bowman Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Illiana Christian, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
Bowman Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Illiana Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Andrean at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Andrean focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
