The Roosevelt Rough Riders lost against the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Roosevelt fell 54-42 to Cuyahoga Falls. Roosevelt has struggled against Cuyahoga Falls recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Roosevelt saw an underclassman step up: Gavin Peeps scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Peeps scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Tyrel Ellington, who scored six points along with three steals.
Roosevelt's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Cuyahoga Falls, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will challenge Barberton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Barberton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Roosevelt likes a good challenge. Cuyahoga Falls is on the road again on Friday and plays Revere at 8:00 p.m. on February 9th. Revere knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Cuyahoga Falls likes a good challenge.
