The Trinity Catholic Celtics will challenge the Taylor Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Catholic is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
On Tuesday, Trinity Catholic earned a 5-1 victory over Tampa Catholic. That's two games straight that the Celtics have won by exactly four runs.

Caylee Barbe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Trinity Catholic let Hailey Wilson and Emma Simms run wild. Wilson went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Simms scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in March.
Taylor never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Atlantic on Tuesday. They blew past the Sharks 18-2. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 15 runs or more this season.
Savannah Pearson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Pearson was also big at the plate, scoring three runs.
In other batting news, Taylor got a massive performance out of Caydence Hassell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendall Miller, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Taylor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Trinity Catholic's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Taylor, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Trinity Catholic hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Taylor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Trinity Catholic took their victory against Taylor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Celtics have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
