The Marshall Barristers will square off against the Garfield Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marshall has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Marshall will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Monday, then bounced right back against Wilson on Wednesday. The Barristers walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Mules. Considering the Barristers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Elaine Reynoso, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Guerrero, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Garfield came tearing into last Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Gladiators by a score of 6-1.
Nadia Carrillo made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, Madilyn Mu?oz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.
Garfield's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Marshall, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.
Marshall suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Garfield in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Barristers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
