The Tinley Park Titans will challenge the Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tinley Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Tinley Park is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Argo just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 11-7 to the Argonauts.
Emily Korduplewski put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Megan Piotrowski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
Homewood-Flossmoor let Manteno stack six runs on them in the seventh inning on Wednesday but luckily Homewood-Flossmoor prevailed anyway. The Vikings skirted past the Panthers 8-7.
Izzy Thurman was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-4. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ana Weber, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Homewood-Flossmoor is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Tinley Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Tinley Park's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Titans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Homewood-Flossmoor, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Tinley Park continue to outrun the ball?
Tinley Park might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Homewood-Flossmoor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
