The Lafayette Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Smithfield Packers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Smithfield took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lafayette, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Lafayette didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Warhill, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Lafayette has scored all season.
Lafayette got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jarquez Garrett out in front who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Garrett hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Asa Fehrenbach, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and two blocks.
Smithfield suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Bruton by a score of 68-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Smithfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
