This season hasn't been kind to the Franklin Yellowjackets, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. The matchup between Franklin and Calaveras wasn't particularly close, with Franklin falling 58-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Franklin in their matchups with Calaveras: they've now lost six in a row.
Franklin lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daniel Lazaro, who scored nine points along with three steals. Moses Belasco was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 15 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Franklin were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Calaveras found their leader in underclassman Ryan Clifton, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Clifton scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Logan Pedersen, who scored 14 points.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Calaveras, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Franklin and University Prep will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully University Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. Calaveras will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Kimball at 5:15 p.m. on December 7th. Kimball is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54 points per game.
