They strolled past Vancleave with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. Given Stone's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Vancleave is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for JaKobey Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Kamorious Tisdale, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Stone is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Vancleave, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.
Stone will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Gautier at 7:30 p.m. As for Vancleave, they will head out on the road to challenge East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Central has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20.
