The Resurrection Christian Cougars will challenge the Fort Morgan Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Resurrection Christian comes in on nine and Fort Morgan on four.
Resurrection Christian had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Peak to Peak on Monday. The Cougars blew past the Pumas 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brayden MacAlmon was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Ruby, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Fort Morgan let The Academy stack six runs on them in the seventh inning on Monday but luckily Fort Morgan prevailed anyway. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 11-10. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one run.
JJ Marquez looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Samson Ortega, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Fort Morgan's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Royer Alvarez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Fort Morgan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Resurrection Christian pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Morgan, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Resurrection Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fort Morgan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
