Softball Recap: Centennial Wins Going Away Against Lake Havasu

Centennial's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Lake Havasu Knights with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Riley Moncrieff tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Centennial got a massive performance out of Brooke Denton, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Serenity Anchondo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Havasu only posted a batting average of .179.

Centennial now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Lake Havasu, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Centennial will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Youngker at 3:45 p.m. Centennial is facing Youngker at the right time seeing as Youngker is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lake Havasu, they will head out to challenge Kellis at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
