Basketball Recap: Twin Peaks Classical Academy Takes a Loss

If Twin Peaks Classical Academy was riding high fresh off their 68-46 takedown of Ascent Classical Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves were outmatched by the Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels and fell 69-41. The Timberwolves have struggled against the Sentinels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Twin Peaks Classical Academy lost on Wednesday, don't look at Angel Ortega. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 12 to rack up 16 points and four steals. Matthew Wurth was another key player, putting up four points and ten boards.

Golden View Classical Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Walker out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Walker is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Chronowski, who posted 16 points.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Golden View Classical Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Peaks Classical Academy will host William Smith at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Golden View Classical Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Thomas MacLaren School at 12:30 p.m. One thing working in Thomas MacLaren School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
