The Unalaska Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. Their tough 69-49 defeat to Hooper Bay might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Unalaska of the 76-52 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hooper Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Latrell Lake, who scored 29 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Long, who scored 21 points.
Unalaska's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hooper Bay, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unalaska will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cook Inlet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on February 16th. Hooper Bay will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Unalakleet at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
